I leave on Saturday. I feel torn between an array of emotions, fear, excitement, anxiety, immense joy, and even a bit guilty. I am going to miss so much in the life I am leaving behind, I feel bad for missing out on weddings, graduations, 21st birthdays of close friends, Beta, and all the memories associated with these events. At the same time, my first experience living abroad was such a life altering time in my life I can only imagine the benefits of returning and partaking in a similar routine.
This time around will no doubt be much more difficult, not only will I have to fend for myself without my wonderful host family, but I will be forced to make my own food, endure all my courses in German, and somehow earn good enough grades that will not demolish my hard earned G.P.A. Also, this past semester has been incredible. The friendships I have made and the existing friends I have grown closer with make my leaving so bittersweet.
Kevin, thanks for giving up your room, I know it wasn't always fun but lets just be thankful we haven't killed each other. David, I am going to miss you more then you might know, sorry I won't be there for your initiation but know I will be thinking of you. Briana, we have gotten to spend so much more time together this semester and I am so happy, sorry I will be missing your musical, represent America's Dariy Farmers well my girl. Hayley, the times we have shared especially lately have been so fun, but mostly drunken stupidity, which is a favorite pastime. Kelly, I wish we could have seen more of each other but at least we were able to go to Too Much Love a bunch. And everyone else, I will miss you so much and can not wait to come back and hear all about everything I have missed.
Now all that is left are my final goodbyes and making the difficult selection of which clothes I deem worthy enough to make their European debut. Goodbye everyone, if I don't get a chance to see you personally before I leave I apologize, but know I have a return ticket.
